Description

Quality Assurance Manager
This is a key quality assurance leadership role. The role is responsible for ensuring that all consumer products conform to the required regulatory and consumer quality standards. This position requires familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures, and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The QC Manager is considered a working manager, and performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This position reports to the Director of Quality Assurance & Government Compliance.

Job Duties:

Oversees inspection and testing of materials and products to ensure adherence to established standards;
Performs inspections, checks, and tests for quality control for the manufacture of products;
Responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements;
Conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation;
Biological and chemical evaluation of final product, intermediate products, raw materials, and production facilities;
Performing quality control assays;
Writing and establishing specifications;
Assisting in the validation of QC assays;
Writing and editing Standard Operating Procedures;

Requirements

Bachelors Degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related field;
7-10 years experience in Quality Assurance management;
Knowledge of FDA regulations required; knowledge of USDC and Department of Environmental Conservation regulations preferred;
Demonstrated all-round management strength and ability;
Strong auditing experience and familiarity;
Direct experience with structure and requirements of quality management systems;
