PROCESS ENGINEER - NJ
Specialty manufacturer and packager of powder-blended food ingredients seeks a hands-on process engineer who can make a significant impact on plant efficiency, food safety, and profitability. Requires a high degree of data analysis and interpretation.
This position is responsible for the evaluation of blending and packaging processes. Identify ways to reduce manufacturing costs, improve food safety practices, and increase processing efficiencies and yields. Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving the efficiency and effectiveness of cleaning/changeovers (important for allergen control).
Responsibilities:
Technical Responsibility of Existing Processes: identify ways to improve process capability, batch homogeneity, blending efficiency, and packaging efficiency.
Production Responsibilities & Knowledge: develop systems with the knowledge of all linkages in the internal supply chain. To include various processes, compounding, mixing, and packaging; documentation; data compilation and analysis of trends.
Inventory/Resource Management: Optimize S&OP, including assessment of vendor ERP systems and internal systems.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
BS degree in engineering required; ChE (Chemical Engineer) highly-preferred
3+ years industrial experience; experience in the food industry or with powder-blending desired
