Job Description

Our client is a large Dairy Operation with depth into multiple industries, multi-generational family owned and operating with high standards for animal health and welfare. Focused on being good stewards of land, livestock and people to create sustainable efforts for now and generations to come. We are searching for a Dairy Farm Manager who’s passion and expertise is people, cows, process and technology.

Dairy Farm Manager, Upstate New York

  1. Engage and lead a team of 60+ employees to include: herd health, calf raising and milking parlor team members and 5000+ Holstein head count
  2. Increase herd health and nutrition trends through engaged leadership, innovative training programs and decreased employee turnover
  3. Utilize the technology and software systems to track cow and production data for increased efficiencies
  4. Collaborate to achieve targeted goals in these categories: cow mortality rate, call rate, somatic cell count and labor efficiencies
  5. Seeking Keen ability to earn trust and credibility with multiple family stake holders to respectfully navigate day-day demands
  6. Obtain buy-in, collaborate on new ideas and create a cohesive positive team for optimal results
  7. Must possess outstanding communication and leadership abilities with demonstrated effectiveness
  8. Comfortable, passionate and “at home” with on farm culture
  9. Operate hands on to be “WITH AND AROUND” the people and animals for high success

Job Requirements
1. Degree is optional along with a minimum of 5 -7 years on farm dairy experience
2. Must have at least 3 – 5 years of management experience on a dairy farm to include herd health, calf raising and milking parlor
3. An Ideal candidate might have grown up on a Dairy Farm
4. Another ideal candidate may be a Dairy Industry “Field Individual” who’s real passion is on the farm
5. Bilingual is highly preferred although not a deal breaker for a passionate leader and communicator
