Job Description

We are seeking a Head Baker/Bakery Manager to supervise, coordinate and run the day-to-day operations of the bakery. This includes all aspects of bread and pastry production as well as recipe development. The Bakery Manger is responsible for overseeing bakery staff, including hiring, training and scheduling. Candidates must be self-motivated, methodical and meticulous, adaptable and positive, and passionate about baking.

This position is full-time, year-round. Weekend availability required. Hours shift seasonally.

Bakery Manager duties include :

  • Mix, prepare and bake bread and pastries

  • Organize/produce weekly production charts for bread and pastry departments

  • Research and develop new products and formulas, including holiday menus

  • Purchase and receive ingredients, supplies and packaging

  • Input weekly record of product and loss into Quickbooks

  • Ensure baked goods are ready for Farmstand

  • Conduct quality assurance testing

  • Assist owner with annual budget and financial framework

  • Conduct employee performance reviews

  • Fill in for employee absences as needed

  • Ensure proper upkeep and repair of facilities and equipment

  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met daily

Job Requirements
Prerequisites:
A minimum of five years of production baking experience, with at least three years of managerial experience preferred.
A knowledge and understanding of all types of bread and pastry with an emphasis on naturally leavened breads and laminated products
Knowledge of and experience working with steam injection ovens
Proficient with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Calendar) and Quickbooks
Have a valid driver’s license
Be able to repeatedly lift 50 lbs throughout the day and work on your feet
