Host/Hostess

Bean Restaurant Group in West Hartford, CT is looking to hire a full-time or part-time host or hostess to work at our Union Kitchen location. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RESTAURANT HOST/HOSTESS

At our restaurant, the host/hostess has the pleasure of being the first point of contact with our guests. This may be when answering the telephone to make a reservation, answering questions about our operations including questions about the menu or greeting a walk in guest. Our host/hostess sets the tone for the entire guest experience.

You escort guests to the assigned dining area, present menus, and ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff with a welcoming nature. Additionally, you'll manage reservations and a waiting list during busy periods and provide guests accurate wait time estimates. With an ability to multitask, you also handle phone calls, answer customer queries about the restaurant, and participate in side work such as managing takeout orders.You are highly observant of guests' needs throughout the dining experience and you assist fellow employees.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • A team player with a hospitality first mentality and a keen willingness to learn
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to stand, walk and lift heavy items for extended periods of time

WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time position includes day and evening shifts as well as weekend shifts.
