A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LEAD RESTAURANT LINE COOK
As our new Lead Restaurant Line Cook, you are an integral part of our culinary team, responsible for preparing and executing dishes to perfection. In this role, you work alongside a fast-paced and highly motivated team, ensuring that all food is prepared to our specifications and meets our high standards for quality and presentation. You are responsible for preparing and cooking a wide range of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and you may be asked to work the grill or sauté station. Additionally, you help your team clean the kitchen and maintain your equipment. You love cooking up delicious meals that keep guests coming back for more!
Your schedule will vary, as we are open Wednesday through Sunday and offer full- AND part-time shifts. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, we're open from 5 pm to 9 pm. Our hours extend a bit on Fridays when we're open from 5 pm to 10 pm. Saturdays, we're open from 8 am to 3 pm and from 4 pm to 10:30 pm. Finally, we're open from 9 am to 3 pm on Sundays. Come ready to work hard and learn new skills in this food service position.
To be successful as our Lead Restaurant Line Cook, there are a few basic requirements and skills you'll need to have, such as the following:
- 1+ years of experience in a kitchen
- Food health card and Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) permit
- Ability to think of creative new dishes for the menu
The job entails preparing food, setting up the line, and breaking it down at the end of the day, so you need to be proficient with these tasks.
